The newest issue of Crochet World is out! I have one pattern in this issue, the Color-Block bag. This is part of a “Scrap Basket” story line, showing how you can use up odds and ends of yarn. This bag used way less than a skein of each color so it is a great project to bust your stash. It is created using only single crochet and the lines are made with surface slip stitch. To get a textured look the single crochets are worked in the front and back loops.
I am so thrilled with how this turned out and I think the photography is done really well. Bags are definitely one of my favorite things to make right now. I’ve even knitted a few recently and have one bag design in the Holiday 2014 issue of Vogue Knitting. If you’re a knitter and want to check it out, you can view it here.
The other things I have been obsessed with lately are scarves and cowls. I’ve been designing some for my son’s teachers and family – those patterns will be up soon. I wanted to get more on here before Christmas, but with the family and wrapping up the end of the semester it has been very crazy around here. At least it is exam week and then we will get some time to relax. I will have at least one pattern up before Christmas so be on the lookout!
