I had big plans to make Carson a whole outfit for his first Halloween – but, as things normally go, there just wasn’t enough time. I had two magazine projects I finished exactly a week before Halloween and this week was totally taken up with Homecoming and other after school activities. I did manage to whip up this skunk hat for Carson since we call him our Little Stinker. I didn’t measure his head and made it a baby size – and it almost didn’t fit! I underestimated how big his noggin is. 🙂
I really wish I would have had time to make him a tail but everyone at school loved the hat anyways. Next time I make a hat for one of my boys I will definitely measure first! Carson wasn’t sure about wearing a hat at all but he did manage to keep it on when we went into the building and while they took the kiddos trick-or-treating around the school. (We have on-site daycare where I work at a large high school.) Unfortunately we had very severe weather Halloween night and already had plans Friday night so no trick-or-treating for us. The kids really didn’t need the candy anyways and we still had a blast at my older son’s Fall Festival last Monday night. He was a fireman.
I am getting into the Holiday crocheting mode and this true fall weather here in Middle Tennessee is making me want to get out my knitting needles – which I haven’t done in almost a year. I love fall!
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!
Welcome back!
